Microsoft warns: AI affects forty professions

AI is profoundly changing the job market

The rise of artificial intelligence is putting an increasing number of professions under pressure. Jobs that rely heavily on text, communication, and data appear to be especially vulnerable. This is the conclusion of a recent Microsoft study, reported by Algemeen Dagblad.

According to the analysis, forty professions are highly susceptible to automation. These include translators, writers, customer service representatives, PR specialists, data analysts, and teachers. As a result, sectors such as administration, media, IT, and education are feeling the pressure grow.

By contrast, physical professions such as nurses, mechanics, plumbers, and cleaners remain largely unaffected for now. AI excels at handling text and data but is (still) unable to perform physical tasks or adapt to practical, real-world situations.

While there are concerns, Microsoft also emphasizes that AI can drive greater efficiency and even create new jobs. The challenge lies in seizing the opportunities without losing sight of the human factor.
